- ACS (Auto Configuration Server) The TR-069 server that remotely provisions, configures, monitors and upgrades broadband CPE.
- CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Subscriber-edge devices: ONT, router, mesh node, gateway or set-top box.
- TR-181 (Device:2 Data Model) The standard parameter tree an ACS or USP controller reads and writes on a device.
- GPON Gigabit passive optical network: the ITU-T fibre access technology behind most FTTH deployments.
- USP (User Services Platform) TR-369: the message-based, multi-controller successor to TR-069.
- Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) Activating a device with no manual configuration and no truck roll.
